Kantha is a form of embroidery which used to be practised by the rural women of West Bengal. The entire cloth is covered with running stitches, employing beautiful motifs of flowers, animals birds and geometrical shapes, as well as themes from everyday activities. The stitching on the cloth gives it a slight wrinkled, wavy effect. Contemporary Kantha is applied to a wider range of garments such as sarees, dupattas, shirt lengths for men and women, furnishing fabrics, mostly using cotton and silk.
This Gorgeous Tussar saree is a combination of Royal Blue & the Tussar colour. It is Kantha embroidered with different shades of Blue, Yellow & Rust coloured Floral motifs in the Pallu as well as in the Border, along with a combination of Leaf motifs.
